Flag Building Presentations:
For
the edification of those Brothers and Site Visitors not familiar with the Building of the Flag, the basic team usually consists
of a minimum of four Sojourners, usually in Authentic Colonial Military Uniforms or Field attire.
A NARRATOR,
presents the history of the United States flag from Colonial days to the present 50 star configuration. As the Narrator makes
the presentation, the FLAG BUILDERS, construct the flag on a large plywood background by attaching the various stripes and
stars to the background material. The fourth Brother, the ORATOR, makes several presentations, he describes the three governmental
institutions, Executive, Legislative and Judicial, represented by the three sides of a folded flag, and as the finale to the
building of the flag another Brother delivers the "Flag Speaks" lecture.
All in all a very impressive and well received
program.
We can always use more Brother Sojourners to participate in this program. We travel frequently and extensively
throughout the state to make the presentations.
Currently about 9 Brothers are regular participants. Please consider
volunteering to join in this, our most requested and popular program which promotes the National Sojourners and particularly
our Chapter. There is no requirement to be in Colonial Uniform attire. Regular Suit and/or sports jacket, or your old uniform,
if it still fits!, is perfectly satisfactory.
Also no preliminary training or study is necessary, all texts and required
training is "On the Job".
